Legendary Island of Brazil |

Sometimes
referred to as 'Brasil', Hy-Brasil', or 'O'Brasil' this island was mentioned
in various early Irish literature. The island was 'known' to Bristol seamen
before 1497 and can be found on charts and maps until 1850 when, on the
British Admiralty chart it was depicted as 'Brasil Rock'. |
